A Rising Star in CI Design
Fumima Bando is a rising star who has appeared in the world
of CI design like a comet. CI design encompasses all forms
of design. Therefore, a CI designer must be an expert in every
aspect of design.
He is the only one who has truly inherited my philosophy
—Fumima Bando.
What is CI design? Many designers do not understand
its essence. The mark, which lies at the core of CI design, is
the very identity of a corporation itself.
A mark is not a logo. A logo is a “transformation of letters,”
whereas a mark is an “image”—a “vision.” That image,
that vision, is to depict the future, to imagine the future, and
to create the future.
Thus, it is the mark that creates the future. Few understand
this principle.
I have imparted this philosophy to Bando. For this reason,
he has become a new star in CI design. He will
undoubtedly transform the world of design. When the world
of design changes, society changes; the world changes;
and humanity itself evolves. This is the mission entrusted
to Fumima Bando.
Bando dedicates himself to design 24 hours a day. He
devotes his entire life to design—and to CI design in particular.
His dedication is truly beautiful.
Clients who have the opportunity to work with such
a designer are truly fortunate.

Fumima Bando’s designs exhibit a distinctive strength that
can only be achieved by one who truly grasps the
essence of Corporate Identity (CI). Far from being mere visual
ornamentation, CI is the profound act of crystallizing an
organization’s philosophy and its future into a singular symbol.
His work presents the rare power to translate that underlying
philosophy into a definitive, tangible form.
In my role as a photographer, I have observed countless
subjects through my lens. Yet, while capturing his work, I
found myself struck by the absolute necessity behind
every line, every margin, and every proportion. There is
no ambiguity; his work exists at the intersection of
aesthetic perfection and ideological intensity.
Such design is not merely beautiful; it has the power
to present a company’s future in symbolic form and to
remain in people’s memory. I believe that Bando’s
work has every potential to be highly acclaimed not only
in Japan but also on the international stage.
I have the highest hopes for his future and for the role he
will play in leading the next generation of designers
into the future of CI.
