BANDO FUMIMA DESIGN

Fumima Bando
Profile

Fumimaa Bando is a Japanese CI (Corporate Identity) designer
and art director specializing in corporate identity design.

Born in Kyoto, he graduated from Ritsumeikan University
and pursued a career in graphic design and CI design.
he studied under Professor Hiromi Inayoshi of the Władysław
Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, a leading
authority in mark and logo design and one of the world’s
foremost CI designers. Through intensive one-on-one
mentorship, he refined his skills and deepened his understanding
of the discipline. He systematically learned the essence
and philosophy of CI design, as well as the methodology
of the “Inayoshi-style design,” and was profoundly
influenced by its aesthetic and conceptual depth. Since then,
he has continuously explored and put these theories
into practice.

Rather than limiting his work to mere visual expression,
he emphasizes CI design as a cultural practice that
visualizes the philosophy and spirit of corporations and
organizations. Grounded in meticulous composition
and a refined sense of form, he pursues the creation of
identities that balance universality and originality,
demonstrating a distinctive talent in the fields of brand
development and visual communication.

In 2026, in his first-ever submission to an international design
competition, he received the iF Design Award 2026 in
Germany, one of the world’s three major design awards.
together with Professor Hiromi Inayoshi. In addition,
he was selected for the Visual Identity and Graphic Design
categories in the Japan Typography Annual 2026, and
continues to receive numerous awards both in Japan and
internationally.
