My bible of design is Professor Hiromi Inayoshi’s
collection of works, “HIROMI INAYOSHI CI DESIGN.” This
book encompasses everything about CI design, and
moreover, the very essence of all design disciplines. It is
also a systematic textbook of CI design, structured
as a four-year curriculum developed by Professor Hiromi
Inayoshi at a national academy of fine arts in Poland.

While receiving direct guidance from Professor Hiromi Inayoshi,
I use this “bible” as my compass, studying and refining
my skills day by day. What I learn there is not merely technique,
but the very way of being a CI designer. It is an attitude
that goes beyond the design business—one that engages with
clients with a sense of social responsibility, like that
of a doctor or a lawyer. These principles are embodied in
Professor Hiromi Inayoshi’s philosophy:

A CI designer is one who solves problems through
design, and envisions and creates the future of corporations
and organizations through marks. In other words,
this role is deeply involved in the core of management and
carries significant responsibility. At the heart of CI
design lies the mark. The mark is the symbol of a corporation
or organization, and its development requires
comprehensive expertise across all fields of design.

In 2026, under the direction of Professor Hiromi Inayoshi,
I received the iF Design Award 2026 in Germany—one
of the world’s three major design awards—for my CI design
work. This project embodies the full range of CI design
philosophy and practice that I have studied and cultivated
over the years. I have also received awards in other
design competitions and in the poster category. These
achievements serve as evidence of Professor Hiromi
Inayoshi’s belief that a CI designer should be an expert
across all areas of design.

Through the power of CI design, to improve the design
world, society, and the world at large—that is the mission
of BANDO FUMIMA DESIGN and Fumima Bando,
carrying forward the legacy of Professor Hiromi Inayoshi.
